Hola Elder Rico!
(That's as good as my Spanish gets!) I do think it would be fun to learn Spanish while you are gone. I've been looking into it! Well...one more week under your belt! I can't believe how close it is to you leaving for Mexico. I just heard on the new this morning that President Obama is sending 1200 US troops to the Mexican border. I don't know why, but it made me feel that it might be a little safer...not that you would ever be in peril..but I like the thought of military troops keeping the border safer. I doubt that you would ever be close to the border, but...you never know.
So..do you feel ready to leave in another week and a half?? Hopefully your Spanish is coming right along (better than mine) and I know you are anxious to get down there. How is the District Leader calling? Do you get to go out today to greet new missionaries that come in? If so, watch for Jacob Perry to come today. I don't think you'll be able to see him too often, but maybe you'll bump into him.
Still working on your ipod, but I'll try to send it at least by the first of next week!! Are you missing it? I have some pretty good songs on it, so just hang on!
Guess who I ran into at the Grill the other day when we went to lunch? We walked in and there was LJ, Brinley, Lori Trujillo, and a few others (I wasn't too sure who the others were). They were celebrating LJ's birthday! We all hugged and they asked about you. I also got to talk to Lori about Zach's call and she is so excited!! It was fun to see them.
Did you decide about the scripture for your plaque? If you can't tell me, I'll just have to take a poll from your brother and sisters cause I like both of the ones you told me about. I also have to still print off your picture. I'm also going to print some pictures to send to you, so that will be in the package with your ipod.
Well..I'll send this off in case you get on the "computadora" early( I got that Spanish word from a new book in my library!) Keep up the good work..remember you don't have very much time left at the MTC! Love you Lots!! Mom


haha o mom i love you!! you make me laugh!! well funny story about Chihuahua.... a new teacher came in the other day and talked to us about it. he just came home like 2 months ago. and there are a few things i need to worry about but the drug cartel and the gangs are one thing i dont need to worry about. they don't mess with the people that serve the Lord cuz they totally respect what we're doing.... that was a relief!! but i do have to worry about scorpions and 140 degree weather.... i about cried when he told us that 140 degree weather was normal.... pres Obama sent troops to the boarder huh?? crazy tho maybe i will have to worry about that :) haha j/k i'm more worried about my visa coming in.... they've been re-assigning missions like crazy cuz of visa problems.... Sister Steffany Winterton got re-assigned to New York and she was going to Greece. they have like a stack of 30 missionaries who have been in here for like 14-16 weeks going to mexico cuz of visa problems and they can't send them stateside temporarily cuz of how many there are.... so put us in your prayers!! mom, the sooner you send me my ipod the better. Hermano (Brother) Stocking, one of the teachers here said he'll bring his laptop here and put Mindy Gledhill on it for me and pretty much his entire playlist that he had on his mission so the sooner i can get my ipod back the better.... the scripture on the plaque.... lets go with Ephesians por favor. that one has been good for me lately.... and also, you need to read D&C 30-31. talks about missionary work and those have been hitting me hard too. I'm gonna wait outside and write letters so that i can watch for Jake! i can't wait to see him!!! and ZACH'S GOING TO GERMANY!!!!!!! i'm soo freakin proud of him i started to cry when i read that.... but you left out a tiny detail.... when does he leave??? Grandma and Grandpa Arko sent me a package monday and that made me smile :) i think uncle lou and aunt charlene helped them cuz i got it thru dearleder.com and they don't have the internet.... or at least, i don't think they do....
well i'm gonna go early and leave a little bit of time on the clock in case i get flight plans today.... check your e-mail later!!!

ok update.... we won't get travel plans until tomorrow or friday so i'll let you know whats up with that next week k? well i love you and you have a good week!!! how's dad by the way?? i haven't heard from him since his last dear elder.... just let him know i'm thinking of him and i love him too!! :)
