Love, Elder Arko

Hola, My Elder Son! Another week in paradise, right! :) Hey, you have the best attitude and determination! Everyone asks you are doing and I tell them you are a trooper! You are doing good, in spite of the adversities you face! You remind me of a few of my church heroes who worked even though conditions were not the best. Keep it up and you know the Lord will continue to bless you!! So did your baptism go through this week? I'll bet that is so exciting to be a part of. I was thinking last night that even if you struggle with the language, the very best way to teach is spirit to spirit! Language might be a small barrier, but having the spirit and sharing your testimony with that spirit is really what will touch another persons heart! You have been blessed with the ability to touch people. You have always been able to talk to people and make friends easily. This is a gift and I'm sure you are doing that in Mexico! So what are some of the new changes you have since you have a new mission president? Are there any changes for you? It sounds like your companion will be a little less in need of being to district meetings, so that will help your efforts in Villa Ahumada. How often do transfers come? It's always exciting to see how someone else runs the show, isn't it? Well, this week we are having our Nelson family reunion, and I'm in charge of it! Crista and I came up with an "Amazing Family Race"! I'm excited to see how it will all turn out and I hope it will be fun! We are doing it at Grandpa and Grandma's house so that they can still be a part while grandma is still recovering. She has still been so sore and the Dr. thinks it might be related to her back...so she's a little discouraged right now. She goes in this week to a back doctor and we'll see what happens there. Keep her in your prayers! I'm sure we will have some great pictures to send you next week from the reunion! Oh... I am also sending you a couple of pictures of the girls who went to Wicked while we were in St. Louis! Don't we look cute!! It was great fun! Well, I'll let you go for now. Have a great p-day and have a good week! I'm so excited (as always) to get your email today. Where are you emailing from today? It will be interesting to find out! Keep working hard and know that you have all our love and support. There isn't a day goes by that you are not thought of and prayed for! We love you soooo much and we are so proud of your commitment there in the mission field!! Lots of love! Mom
